From Spain: Look for wines from the area called Bierzo and made from the Mencia grape. Matt claims we will be hearing a lot about these wines that resemble Pinot Noir. One example is Petalos, made by renowned Spanish winemaker Alvar Palacios. About $15.99 a bottle.
From Italy: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Machiarelli sells for about $6.99 a bottle.
From France: Chateau Haut Rian white Bordeaux sells for about $9.99 a bottle.
From California: Cycles Gladiator Syrah and Merlot are excellent bargains at about $7.99 a bottle.
