Lynne Rossetto Kasper is on David Leite's podcast this week, talking about the greatest kitchen disasters in the history of Turkey Confidential.
Here's her lead story:
We got a call from a woman in Florida who had everything organized. The hors d'oeuvres were out on the coffee table, the turkey was in the oven, and she finally was going to go and take a shower.
She told her kids to make sure the dog (a French bulldog) was tied up, because if someone rang the doorbell, the dog would go crazy. So the two little kids tied it up to the oven door.
The doorbell rang and the dog got so excited, it ripped the door off of the oven and then proceeded to run around the house crashing into things, including the glass coffee table.
That would be, I think, the all-time worst disaster. It had a humorous side to it, but I think that dog probably needed counseling.
